Social EventsHere at EMUAS we enjoy a beer every now and again and there are many scheduled Socials. The first that many encounter are Town Night socials which usually involve heading into Nottingham after our weekly ground training for something to eat followed by a few ales. Other slightly more informal social occasions include a themed midterm party held in each term, usually at our town headquarters.
The Christmas Review is the first main event of the year which includes the formal sapects of a dinner before the night is continued at our town headquarters with an annual draw.
The next event in the calander is the Annual Dinner, which is the first main opportunity for us to wear our No.1 Uniform. The evening is usually headed by a high ranking RAF officer and attended by many leading figures in the local community. After the dinner comes the Squadron prize giving, both official and those awarded by the students. This is followed by drinks and entertainment at the Town HQ.
One of the last events of the year is the summer ball. This is where the squadron puts on a formal occasion with many entertainments and a meal just prior to the squadron breaking up for the summer. Finally, during our summer camp we hold the squadron review and formal dinner. This allows us to look back on the year and to look forward to the next year to come.
